This first course of a two-semester physics sequence covers the properties of matter, mechanics, heat, and waves, including sound. It is intended for students majoring in pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-optometry, and similar areas.

The Honors version of this course, PHYS111H, additionally offers highly motivated students the opportunity to conduct self-directed research as well as independent exploration of laboratory equipment and software.
