Advocacy Campaign (macro project)
Submit a 5-7 page paper which includes the following components: a 2-4 page campaign or social movement summary, your policy brief of no more than 3 pages, and a reference page (not included in the total page count). Your campaign/social movement summary must be organized according to the sections and corresponding headings listed in the instructions below.
Part 2 of the final project is worth 125 points.
Your paper will include the following:
- 2-4 page double spaced summary of your campaign, social movement, or policy issue. This summary will expand on the findings, history, and conclusions presented in your policy brief. Include the following sections with clear subheadings:
- Overview - Explain the issue or social problem, impacted populations, and campaign goals. This should expand on the problem statement and summarize the movement.
- History - Describe how this issue has evolved over time. Include key historic responses, past/present movements and policies, as well as related intended and unintended outcomes of these actions.
- Key Stakeholders - In addition to the impacted population, describe which other groups, organizations, or individuals hold an interest or concern in this issue whether in support of or in opposition to the campaign, movement, or policy.
- Conclusion - Include a summary of the proposed action or policy and the intended outcome.
- Policy brief - A concise summary of information to educate your audience and possibly help them make an informed decision about an issue. No more than 3 pages. This is simply an update of your original policy brief.
- Update and revise according to instructor feedback
- Review midterm submission for spelling and grammatical errors
- 1.15 - 2.0 line spacing
- Important: Do not include the title page from your midterm in your submission
- Reference page (not included in the total page count)
- Include at least 5 references to support your paper and the policy brief, with at least 2 new references from your midterm submission
