Welcome to Intermediate English as a Second Language 1, NESL 904!

This is a 16-week online course, so we will not be meeting on campus at all during the semester. All of our course work and communication will take place online, here in Canvas. We will have optional Zoom meetings on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 7:00 -8:30 pm beginning Monday, August 22nd, 2022.

Write personal messages using appropriate language and content
Copy information accurately
Identify factual details in a variety of listening situations and discourse
Write short texts about a personal or familiar situation, event, personal experience, and future plan
Identify and use certain parts of speech
Recognize and use certain verb tenses and aspects in writing and in speaking
Recognize and use certain modal verbs
Recognize and use grammatical forms at the low intermediate level in appropriate word order and context
